Sports Screening

We recommend all athletes and ambitious exerciseists to take a sports screening. It will reveal strengths as well as weaknesses within measurable parameters such as movement, coordination, strength and asymmetry relative to the right and left sides of the body. At the same time, it can also tell you about the athlete’s risk of injury in the future. The goal is to give the athlete directions for a more targeted training based on screening. Where should you have your focus and what exercises should be prioritized?

What is a sports screening? The athletes are exposed to different tests and exercises evaluated in relation to movement, static and dynamic stability, strength, firing of muscle loops, asymmetry in strength between the right and left sides of the body, as well as explosions in the lower and upper body. The results are documented graphically via a spider network, which, together with training and exercise recommendations, is handed to the athlete.

What are muscle slinges? Muscle slinges are “chains” of muscles that cooperate to stabilize the body during activity while at the same time having the potential to generate significant power development.

Why is mobility and stability so important? The body is a unit and works by the fact that some joints need to be stabilized so that other joints can be moved optimally. The thinking is based on the “joint by joint” theory, which describes how a joint moves while the link above stabilizes. Gray Cook, a recognized trainer in the US, describes it as follows: “You can not fire a cannon from a canoe”. The ankle and knee joints during a leg bend are a good example. The ankle must be movable while the knee is to stabilize. If the ankle joint has reduced mobility there is a risk that the knee compensates and becomes exposed to loads that exceed the strength of the tissue. This causes injury in the knee. The same logic applies to the rest of the body.
